Hello Crawford-Rodriguez Families,
Read Across America Week was a huge success! Students enjoyed the Dr. Seuss assembly on Friday, and the PM Kindergarten students truly enjoyed the play The Sneetches performed by Ms. Ogletree’s class.
Congratulations to Team Jean-Denis for reading the most steps! The students did an amazing job this past month reading over 13,000 steps!
For those families unable to attend the Book Fair at Barnes & Noble Night Thursday night but you would like to purchase books, visit BN.COM/bookfairs online from February 27, 2015 to March 3, 2015 by entering Book Fair ID 11563145 at checkout. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to the PTN!
PARCC-PBA test for grades 3, 4 and 5 will be conducted each morning as noted below:
Grade 3 – March 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Grade 4 – March 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
Grade 5 – March 16, 17, 18, 19, 20
Make-up testing will occur the week of March 23.
During testing time, there are several things that you can do at home to help your child achieve his or her highest potential:
Make sure your child gets plenty of rest during the entire testing period.
Provide a nutritious, well-balanced breakfast every day.
Allow plenty of time to prepare for school because rushing causes stress. Please take extra care to see that your child arrives at school on time each day; testing begins at 9:00 AM.
Any student arriving after testing begins will have to make up the test.
Tell your child to try his/her best on the tests but that he/she is not expected to know everything.
Please do not request to sign your child out during the testing, as classes may not be interrupted.
Parents are reminded that you must present photo identification when picking up a student. Students will not be released unless proper photo identification is produced. Thank you for adhering to this school safety procedure.
I would also like to share the following protocol when entering the school.
· At the buzzer, please state the purpose of your visit and/or whom you have an appointment.
· You will then be buzzed in and must sign in with the receptionist as well as show photo identification.
· It is important that visitors not hold the door open for others behind them. Each visitor must be acknowledged individually through the buzzer system.
