The Crawford School Anti-Bully and Violence Awareness Campaign are Promoting Respect and Tolerance, as an extension of our Respect Week activities. Our year long theme of Bucket Filling and It’s Cool to Be Kind will be promoted through Morning Announcements, Guidance lessons, and School Wide activities.

Day 1--- --- Pledges will be re-distributed to classrooms and students will be encouraged to do a random act of kindness.  IT’S COOL TO BE  KIND

Day 2----Wear purple as a reminder to stay away from violence

Day 3---Curb your ANGER---Ten Things to Do instead of staying Angry will be promoted during morning announcements.

Day 4 --- Conflict Resolve  information will be  promoted during morning announcements emphasizing that being a good citizen means that you don’t always have to agree with people, but you do need to respect their rights to have different views.

Day 5—Expand your world…get to know people who may be different from you. Look for the things you have in common.  Students will make a new friend by inviting someone different to play with them at recess, or sit with them at lunch.

Walk to Remember
Our Veterans!
Sept. 24th

Written By: Allison Rosofsky and Kayla Wierbicki

Here at Crawford we are Bucket Fillers. Thanks to Ms. Herold, our school guidance counselor who is committed to promoting good behavior. Each time a student/staff member does something nice to another they get to write about it in a tiny newspaper article. Each week articles are chosen to be read during our school’s morning announcements.  Students/staff who have been recognized will come up to the main office and receive a token for their kindness. Ms. Herold appreciates all the students and staff for their efforts in participating in this initiative.

Principal's Message

October 17, 2014

Hello Crawford-Rodriguez Families,

School Spirit Day

Our next School Spirit Day will be Friday, October 24.  On that day, students and staff can wear their Crawford-Rodriguez Apparel or the colors red and black!  We want every student to be proud to be a Crawford-Rodriguez Wildcat!

Halloween Information

We are finalizing our Halloween celebration arrangements for Friday, October 31.  Below is some very important information to know as we plan for the day.

·         The children who choose to participate should come to school dressed in their costumes and be prepared to remain in their costumes all day.

o   Please keep in mind that costumes should be comfortable and allow for children to move freely and should not depict any sort of violence.

o   Masks may not be worn during the school day, and no fake weapons of any kind will be allowed.

·         Classroom parties will be planned throughout the day.

o   Your child’s teacher will be providing information on their class pages about classroom events.

o   Please be mindful that a teacher may plan a party with the children only or with selected parent volunteers.  This is a class-by-class decision.

o   The receptionist desk will have a listing of the parents who are planning to attend.  Visitors must sign in. Visitors to class parties will be receiving special Halloween Visitor stickers, which should be worn while entering the building as well as while you are in the building at all times.

o   If you are taking your child home after the festivities, you will sign your child out in the classroom.  All parties will conclude by 2:30 p.m. to allow for classes to be ready for dismissal.
